Smile More Often: Ways to find gratitude
What's a life Lesson you have learned? Is it how to cook the best meal, how to finally pack less than 8 pairs of shoes for a 2-day weekend getaway?
Maybe your life has taught you how to be kinder.
It's possible you've learned how to not beat yourself up over the mistakes that used to once make you feel less than adequate.
For myself, I'm learning that while you can't always control the outcome, you can certainly work on how you respond to the outcome.
So in the moments of inevitable doubt, frustration and maybe even fear, I'm breathing through those sometimes daunting moments that feel like the world is closing in.
I am putting one foot in front of the other to keep pushing.
I am reminding myself to keep focusing on gratitude.
So I ask you, when was the last time you stopped to think of how you have grown for the better?
When was the last time you stopped to realize that you are a pretty dope individual.
Have you stopped recently to find gratitude in the smallest of life's abundant gifts.
Yes--that could include the fact that you had an amazing cup of coffee this morning or that you arrived to work on-time and didn't get fired.
You will be amazed at how your perspective can change for the better if you take a moment to smile and realize that there is something great happening to you even in the midst of potential other chaos.
Maybe you still have your house despite not getting the promotion you thought you deserved.
Could it be that you still have another pair of shoes despite your favorite pair breaking?
Find 1 thing each day to smile about. If you have yet to create one today, start now.
